As a photographer specialising in branding photography for small businesses, this event marked my first photography event since relocating to Townsville, and what a beautiful way to begin. A stunning venue, focused local business owners, and a shared goal: helping women‑led beauty businesses show up confidently and consistently online.
A Community‑Focused Event for Local Beauty Professionals
Hosted by Yolanda from Cosmetica Pro, this thoughtfully curated workshop brought together local beauty professionals who are serious about growing their brands. Yolanda has built an impressive premium beauty and PMU supply, training and PMU services business — but what truly sets her apart is her commitment to creating genuine community. Through events like this, her goal is clear: to provide welcoming spaces where business owners can connect, learn, support one another, and feel truly seen in the industry.
Practical Social Media Strategy Meets Personal Branding
Workshop content was delivered by the beautiful, Jac from grow social co. who was amazing, her knowledge and value, exceptional. The group gained actionable social media strategies, guided by proven, 'right now' steps to improve their online presence. This Sunday morning event, felt relaxed, luxurious and welcoming, thanks to shared 'wows' as we walked into the venue, Composure Studio a stunning and comfortable space (with fantastic lighting!), it felt like a mini haven, a beautiful space that we all quickly settled into. The perfect setting to combine education, connection, and personal branding photography.
Branding Portrait Sessions — Real, Relaxed, UNIQUELY YOU
Each attendee was treated to not only a value packed content workshop, great company and goodie bag - but also a super quick mini portrait session. In just 2–5 minutes, I photographed each business owner — chatting, giving gentle directions and making it easy to relax (even in a room full of people!). “I’m not photogenic” is something I hear almost every session — and every time, I love proving that belief wrong. With the right vibe, guidance, and genuine connection, anyone can have natural, confident and empowering branding images. Often, it’s the smallest adjustments, a dropped shoulder, a slight head tilt and a shared laugh to create genuine visual imagery that resonates with your brand and clients.
